Head coverings are used and practiced in many traditions worldwide. Our wraps are crafted to celebrate the African diaspora and Latinx cultures, and we invite non-Black and non-Latinx folks who wear our wraps to respectfully celebrate and honor our cultures.
Which style would be best for a beginner like me? Help!
We have three different size wraps: Princesa, Reina, and Diosa Headwraps.
- Princesa: Recommended for beginners. Super easy to tie, and looks great with hair up or down. - Reina: Recommended for those who would like a versatile wrap. You can cover your head completely or pair this wrap with a high ponytail or messy bun. - Diosa: Recommended for those who would like a full size wrap. Wrap this baby up to create the top knot or turban style.
Yes, the cambaya fabric is porous and breathable. Can keep the heat out of your face and neck on hot days, and keep your head warm on cold days.
Can you wash these wraps?
Yes! Please do not pop these into the machine. Hand wash and hang dry only.
Are the headwraps in the shop the only ones available?
Yes, we only have what’s available in the shop (website). Please sign up for our newsletter for updates and announcements on restocks!

Elastic ear bands: 5” (can stretch up to 7”)

Can you customize my mask order?
Sorry, we are unable to customize any orders at this time.
Can I use ear savers with these masks?
Azteca Negra masks are designed for secure comfort around the ears. We use quality elastic for each of the masks, however we cannot guarantee that the elastic will hold up well with constant over-stretching of the elastic that occurs with the use of ear savers.
Can I return or exchange a mask I have already received?
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis, we are unable to refund or exchange any masks that have already been received.
Shipping
It’s been a few days- where is my order?
Thank you for shopping with us! If you have not yet received a shipping confirmation email, then we have not yet put your order in the mail. Please hold off on emailing or sending a DM asking for updates, unless it has been more than 10 business days. Please note that “business days” do not include weekends/holidays- we need to rest too!
As we are a small team working to create quality handcrafted items, please flex those patience muscles! With an increased volume of orders, it may take between 7-10 business days to create, package and ship your order. No worries, we will send a shipping confirmation email once your order is in the mail.
Will I receive tracking information once my order has shipped?
Yes! Please keep an eye out for the shipping confirmation email. It will contain USPS Tracking information for your order. Please occasionally check your spam folder, as our confirmation emails sometimes end up in there!
Please note that we cannot guarantee sorting, processing, or delivery times once your order has been delivered to USPS. USPS is currently experiencing delays due to increased volume of mail deliveries.
What if my item has been lost or stolen?
We provide a tracking number via email for each order to help you to plan around your package delivery date. Please make sure that you have checked the tracking information for your order.
If the package is delayed, please hang tight for a few more days, as USPS has been experiencing delays with delivery. You may also contact your local USPS office to request an update about your order.
If the status of your order shows as "delivered", unfortunately we are unable to provide any further assistance. Please contact USPS to file a claim.
Returns
Can I return an item if I don’t like it?
We do not accept returns at this time. Please visit our Policies page to review all shop policies.
What if I received a damaged item?
We always want to deliver quality items to you. Please contact [email protected] is you have received a damaged item. We will do our best to fix, replace, or refund the item.
What if I did not receive my complete order?
We work hard to make sure that this does not happen, but just in case, we are more than happy to send the item to you immediately. Please contact [email protected] to let us know!
