Azteca Negra believes that it is important to give back and to bring attention to causes important to community and humanity, so we created Funds of Love! Semi-annually, Marisol creates original, themed art to raise money to help serve our Black and Brown communities. All proceeds from these sales will be donated directly to the respective organizations. For transparency, fundraiser information will be posted via social media so that our supporters can see that their Funds of Love have gone to the right place!
In December 2016- January 2017, Azteca Negra launched the first Funds of Love Art Sale and teamed up with the Do You See Me Movement, created by Mujer Muralista, to help support our Water Protectors in North Dakota!
Azteca Negra created limited edition Protector Pins and the Do You See Me Movement created a limited edition #NoDAPL Coloring Book. 100% of the proceeds from these sales were sent directly to the official Standing Rock Sioux Tribe organization and the Sacred Stone Legal Defense Fund. With the support of our community, we raised $430+ to help support our Water Protectors!
We truly appreciate all of those who purchased our art, shared and liked our posts, and supported this important and necessary cause!
